Growing
up in rural South Georgia, a cradle for musicians such as Ray Charles,
The Allman Brothers, The B-52’s, Issac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield,
REM and a slue of other phenomenally talented individuals, it’s
no wonder Dan took an early interest in radio. During his high school
years he worked at a local South Georgia FM station. Then, in the fall
of 1986, a twist of fate landed him in the heart of South Florida, where
he began working for radio powerhouse WHYI-Y100 launching his career
as a professional broadcaster. After working at a few of the nation’s
top radio stations, Dan soon realized that production was his specialty.
He enrolled in a then little know school outside the Orlando, Florida
area – know today as Full Sail Center of the Recording Arts –
and completed their prestigious recording sciences program while maintaining
an on-air part-time position at WXXL-XL 106.7. After several internships
and way too much Walt Disney, Dan returned to South Florida leaving
his radio days behind him. In the fall of 1993, Dan teamed up with now
long-time partner, Looch, from Sync Studios. This new venture spawned
what would evolve into today’s well-established audio empire –
Miami Beach Recording Studios. Over the years, Dan’s engineering
wizardry has become a legend within the dance music scene. Additionally,
his diverse ear has led him to work and perform with a variety of musical
talents, including leading gospel artists, platinum rap artists, rock
and roll diehards, and a variety of top-notch voiceover talent. Dan
has an understanding of the industry from many sides, a big plus for
solid teamwork.
